How to check if 5Ghz is supported on your Windows machine

Tags WiFi 5ghz

1.  Click on Windows/Start  icon and type cmd and press Enter.

2.  From within the Command Prompt Type netsh wlan show drivers and press Enter.

Look for Radio types supported.  For further explanation please see the bottom of the page.

3.  Verify that 802.11a. 802.11ac, or 802.11ax are supported, if any of these are listed your device will support the 5.0Ghz Wireless spectrum. If you also see 802.11b, or 802.11n it       means your device will support both the 2.4Ghz & 5.0Ghz ranges.

4. If you do not see 802.11a, 802.11ac, or 802.11ax your device will not support the 5Ghz and will need to be upgraded in order to connect to HSCwave.

* Please keep in mind that while you may have a capable device it is possible that some device settings may need to be set to allow your device to connect. You can contact the IMS Service Desk at (210) 567-7777 for assistance.
