 Faculty Services

The Office of Academic, Faculty and Student Affairs (AFSA) is responsible for the management and oversight of academic affairs and faculty affairs at UT Health San Antonio. These responsibilities include the establishment of policies that affect academic affairs, academic initiatives, faculty appointments, promotions, and tenure, and required and requested reporting submitted to The University of Texas System, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Legislative Budget Board, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, in addition to other various external agencies.

The Office of the AFSA supports the missions of the University by encouraging excellence in all academic programs; serving as the institutional liaison for SACS Reaffirmation of Accreditation; providing vital academic functions such as library services, faculty development, and student services that must be efficient, effective and responsive to the needs of students, faculty and administrators; and ensuring that strategic planning and reporting are accurate and up-to-date.

Services are currently available for the Long School of Medicine at this time.
