Outlook Anywhere is one of the ways to access your Exchange account when you are not on campus. It is part of the program. Outlook Anywhere is a special configuration of Microsoft Office Outlook that allows you to access your Exchange mailbox using Outlook from off-campus without having to use VPN.
Requirements
- Outlook 2007 or later
- Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later
Configure
DON'T CONFIGURE IN OUTLOOK:
Navigation: Start > Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles
(If you don't have a Control Panel icon on your Start menu, try Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles.)
- Click Add.

- In the Profile Name box, type a name and then click OK.
3. Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types and then click Next.

- Click Microsoft Exchange or compatible service and then click Next.

- In the Server box, type outlook.uthscsa.edu. In the User Name box, type your UTHSCSA user name. Click More Settings.
IMPORTANT: The server must be typed exactly as it is provided. To ensure accuracy, you can copy it from here and paste it into the box.

- Click the Connection tab. Select the Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP check box and then click Exchange Proxy Settings…

- In the https:// box, type outlook.uthscsa.edu, select the check boxes shown, and then from the Use this authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange menu, select NTLM Authentication. Click OK.

- Click OK.

- Click Check Name. After the system finishes checking for your account, click Next.

Note:
- If you are asked to authenticate, type UTHSCSA\ followed by your UTHSCSA user name and then type your Exchange or Active Directory password.
- There will be a short delay after clicking Check Name

10 . Click Finish.

11. Click Always use this profile and then, in the menu, select the profile you just created. Click OK.

HINTS:
- If you have more than one profile and will be frequently changing which profile you use, you may prefer to select the Prompt for a profile to be used check box.
- You can set a default profile, which is the one that you see.
- Click Always use this profile.
- From the menu, select the profile you want to be your default.
- Click Prompt for profile.
