How to Find the Media Access Control (MAC) Address

Follow the instructions below to accurately identify the Media Access Control (MAC) Address of your computer, device, machine, tablet, phone, etc.

Windows 10 (using command prompt):

  1. Right click on the Start button and select Command Prompt from the menu.
  2. At the command prompt, type ipconfig/all and press Enter.
  3. Copy down the "Physical Address" (aka the MAC address) from the "Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi" section.
  4. Close the command prompt window.

Windows 10 (in Network Connection Settings):

  1. Search "Network connections" in the task bar and select "View network status and tasks" (Or navigate to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center)
  2. Click on your Wi-Fi network connection or click on Network connections and select Status (this step may vary depending on the version of Windows 10 installed on your computer)
  3. Click the Details button
  4. Copy down the "Physical Address" (aka the MAC address) from the Network Connection details window

Macintosh OS X 10.13 and later:

These instructions may also work for some earlier OS.

  1. From the Apple Menu at top left of the desktop, select System Preferences > Network.
  2. Choose Wi-Fi from the list of interfaces on the left and click the Advanced button.
  3. Click the tab for Hardware
  4. Your wireless card's MAC address is shown here in the format: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Apple iOS:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. Select About.
  4. The MAC address is listed as Wi-Fi Address shown in the format: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Android OS:

  1. Tap Menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select About Tablet (or About Phone).
  4. Select Status.
  5. The MAC address is listed as Wi-Fi Address shown in the format: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
