UT Health Learns: Learners - Search/Browse for a Course and Enrolling in a Course Offering

1. From the Learning Dashboard, type in the name of the course into the search box that states "Search the learning catalog." As you being to type the words, courses with similar names will begin to appear. You can use the scroll bar on the search box to view other courses with similar names if multiple entries appear during your search. When you find the course, select the course title to launch the Course Details Page.

  • If you are not sure of the name of the course or would like to browse the catalog, select Browse Catalog.
    • To view more items, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Load More Items until you locate a course you wish to complete.
    • When you find the course, select the course title to launch the Course Details Page.

2. To enroll in a course offering on the Course Details page:

  • Web-Based Training (WBT) Courses:
    • Scroll down to Available Offerings, expand the view, and select the Enroll button.
    • On the Offering Activities page, you will see all of the required learning activities that are necessary to complete the course successfully. It is recommended that you complete each learning activity in the order it is presented.
    • Complete each learning activity by selecting the Launch button to the right of the learning activity. 
    • During the learning activity, be sure to select Save and Close to record your progress after completing any eLearning activities. If you do not, you may be required to repeat the activity. 
    • When you have completed an activity, move onto the next until you have completed all of the required learning activities in the course offering.
    • When you are done, you can select your Profile Photo in the upper right and Sign Out.
  • Instructor-Led Trainings (ILT) Courses:

    • Scroll down to Available Offerings, expand the view, and select the Enroll button for the Class Offering you would like to attend.
    • After you have enrolled in a course offering, you will need to select the Add to Calendar button to the far right of the learning activity name "Classroom."
    • Once the calendar file has downloaded to your computer, open the file, and then Accept the classroom meeting to your Outlook work calendar. This classroom meeting will contain details about where the class will meet, whether virtually or in-person. If details have not been provided, your instructor will connect with you closer to the class. If you forget to download, open, and accept the calendar meeting, you can return to the course in UT Health Learns to download it at any time.
    • Once you have successfully completed all requirement for the ILT or BLT course, your instructor will provide you credit for the course. Please provide the instructor up to a week to enter your completion (attendance and/or scores). Additionally, you will generally have a week to complete the course evaluation. 
    • When you are done, you can select your Profile Photo in the upper right and Sign Out.
  • Blended Training (BLT) Courses:

    • Scroll down to Available Offerings, expand the view, and select the Enroll button for the Class Offering you would like to attend.
    • Depending on the order of your Blended Training activities, you may be required to:
      • Complete WBT activities prior to the ILT classroom activities, or
      • Complete ILT classroom activities prior to the WBT activities.
    • It is recommended that you complete each learning activity in the order it is presented, and based on the order presented, your steps will include a combination of WBT and ILT activities.
      • WBT:
        • Complete each learning activity by selecting the Launch button to the right of the learning activity. 
        • During the learning activity, be sure to select Save and Close to record your progress after completing any eLearning activities. If you do not, you may be required to repeat the activity. 
      • ILT:
        • After you have enrolled in a course offering, you will need to select the Add to Calendar button to the far right of the learning activity name "Classroom."
        • Once the calendar file has downloaded to your computer, open the file, and then Accept the classroom meeting to your Outlook work calendar. This classroom meeting will contain details about where the class will meet, whether virtually or in-person. 3. When you are done enrolling in a course offering and/or completing an evaluation, you can select your Profile Photo in the upper right and Sign Out.
