How to log into Office 365

Tags Office365

Issue:
You need to log into the UT Health San Antonio Office 365 service.

Steps:

  1. Go to https://login.microsoftonline.com.

  2. If a "Pick an account" screen is shown instead of the one above and your e-mail address is listed, click on it; otherwise, type your UTHSCSA e-mail address (i.e. user@uthscsa.edu) and click "Next".

  3. If prompted to select whether this is a “work or school” or “personal” account, select “work or school”.

  4. If the stars are aligned, you might be logged in automatically at this point.  However, if you can't be automatically logged in, you will be prompted for your password.  If this happens, you’ll either be directed to a web page to log in or will get a pop-up box:
  • If prompted for a password in your browser as shown below, enter your UTHSCSA domain password, then click “Sign in”.

  • If you get a pop-up login box like one of the those shown below, enter your UTHSCSA domain user name (just the user name) if it's not already populated, enter your UTHSCSA domain password, then click “OK”.

  • If you get a pop-up login box like the one shown below that's showing your e-mail address as the user name, click "Use another account".  Then enter your username as "UTHSCSA\Your username" and enter your UTHSCSA domain password, then click “OK”.

If log in is successful, you should see a page like this:

Signing-in to Office 365 from outside the UTHSCSA domain will require additional authentication through another device or phone number to verify your identity. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) helps secure your sign-ins beyond just a single password in Office 365. You may be prompted to register a 2FA verification method. For instructions on how to set up Two-Factor Authentication in Office 365 visit: http://infosec.uthscsa.edu/two-factor-faqs
