Edit Page Banners

Tags WordPress

WordPress has 3 types of page banners. Below will show the design options and then how to switch content and select a design option.

Design Options

1. Default Page Banner

This banner has a Title, body copy, 2 featured buttons and a featured image or featured video. All fields are optional except for the title field. Below is a screenshot example of the page with all fields populated and the second screenshot shows the banner with no fields populated.

2. Homepage Banner

This banner features a full width background image. This image size should be 1550px by 550px(to 750px). The height of the image will depend on the ammount of content you have in the banner. This banner has the option of putting a hue on the background image and moving the text box right. Below is a screenshot of the two variations.

2. Child Page Banner

This banner does not have any featured image and is recommended when the link is nested under 2 pages. At this point in the sites architecture, this page should be focused on content and have breadcrumbs in the page under the title.

  1. Disable Alamo Footer: This will disable the alamo footer on the bottom of the page and should be used if the page ends with a colored background section.
  2. News and Events Options: This enables news and event feeds above the footer of the page. We have an additional help guide that focuses on this feature in our KB.
  3. Enable Colorized Background Image Overlay: This adds a colorized overlay to the background image on the homepage banner option. This example can be seen in the design options section.
  4. Enable Extra Roomy Padding on Page: This adds more spacing around the text box in the banners
  5. Title Box Alignment: This is used on the homepage banner that can be used to move the text box left or right.
