UT Health Learns: Get Started as a New Learner (Employee, Resident, Student, etc.)

Demonstrates when new learners should expect access to UT Health Learns, and how to request assistance if their required courses are not listed.

If you are new to UT Health San Antonio, our human resources information systems will need 24-48 hours to create your account in UT Health Learns and assign you any required courses. For example, if you are entered into the system on Monday at Noon, you should have access to UT Health Learns by Wednesday at Noon.

Please review this article for information on how to successfully log into UT Health Learns. If you are still unable to access UT Health Learns and/or do not see any courses assigned, please submit a service request and include your badge number.

Based on your general role (employee, resident, student, person of interest, temporary employee, etc.), certain courses will be assigned to you automatically. Additionally, you may be assigned courses individually by a department or school based on your specific role, responsibilities, program, work/lab environment etc.

Typically, courses assigned to all employees (faculty, staff, student employees) include:

  • AFSA GCAT Title IX [WBT]
  • EHS GCAT Environmental Health & Safety [WBT]
  • ICPO GCAT HIPAA: Patient Privacy [WBT]
  • ICPO GCAT Institution Compliance Program [WBT]
  • ISO Annual Security Awareness Training (ASAT) [WBT]
  • OHR GCAT Equal Employment Opportunity Laws [WBT]
  • OUR FERPA: The Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act [WBT]
  • VPR Conflict of Interest: Maintaining the Balance [WBT]
  • OHR New Employee Orientation [WBT] (If needed)

Typically, courses assigned to all students include:

Remember, you may be assigned additional courses that are not noted on this list at anytime based on your general or specific role at UT Health San Antonio. You are also welcome to search for courses using the Learning Catalog in UT Heatlh Learns.
