Who can create a new profile?
· School site editor (example role: LSOM editor)
· Dev team (role: admin)
Why can’t department site editors create a new profile?
A profile must be associated with its school, and the department site editors don’t have access to the school. They only have access to their own department.
What field determines permissions to edit a profile?
The EDITING PERMISSIONS website section field determines permissions to edit a profile. This field is also used to indicate the school affiliation for a profile.
Are there any other fields that determine permissions?
Faculty member permissions are determined by the authored by field. The faculty member’s username must be in this field for the faculty member to have access to edit their own profile. The faculty must be created as a website user first before you can enter their username here!
Website section permissions access field
Upon profile creation, a school editor will no longer see the website section field. This is a precaution for cross-appointed faculty. If a faculty member was affiliated with GSBS and Medicine, then the LSOM editor could strip out the GSBS permission by editing this field.
Upon editing, a user without access to ALL website sections will not see the field at all.
Department editors and faculty members do not have access to edit the website section field and will not see it at all.
Who can create new faculty user accounts?
The dev team and the school site editors can create new faculty member user accounts.
The school site editors will not be able to edit the accounts once created.
Who can delete faculty profiles?
Please submit a request to the Dev team to remove a profile.
