(The Mission magazine theme is a child theme of the Story theme.)
To update the slider on the homepage, go to Story in the left toolbar and select Content Slider.
Scroll down to the slider content, and click on the green icon to edit the story sliders.
Click on the image under the Background image to select a new one, and edit the title, description and buttons as needed.
