Uninstalling Global Protect On a Mac

Problem:

  • User needs to uninstall Global Protect on their Mac 



Resolution:

  • User will need to log into the Mac with an administrator account and perform the uninstall using the steps below.

 

Steps: 

1). Locate the Global Protect.pkg file that you downloaded to the computer. If you cannot locate the file or it was deleted, please install it again from here

 

 

2).Double-click the file to launch it. From there, click continue until you get to the Installation Type. Here is where you will select "Uninstall GlobalProtect."

 

3). Click Install.  Note*(The button will show "Install"  even though you are performing an uninstall)

 

4).A prompt will appear asking for your Mac password (not the uthscsa domain password). Enter the password and click Install Software. 

 

5). Global Protect has now been uninstalled from the computer. The icon should no longer appear at the top of your Mac.
